Building Information Modelling
BIM (Building Information Modelling) is the digital information of a construction project. The information model that emerges from the design process supports high-quality contracting and enables BIM-based building maintenance throughout its life cycle. Furthermore, BIM enhances sustainable design because the solutions can be modelled and simulated already in the design phase. In addition, it makes it more manageable to compare different options, and the coordination improves efficiency and reduces waste.
We design all our projects using BIM to support sustainable and accountable construction, usage, and maintenance. In addition, BIM supports tight collaboration between all subjects involved in the construction project. We believe that professional design, functional technical solutions, and conscientious execution play an integral part in achieving the goals of sustainable construction.
BIM coordination is a service where a coordinator supervises BIM-based design and gives the subjects involved in the project advice on using and making use of BIMs.
In addition, the coordinator collaborates closely with the design team, looks for suitable design solutions, and solves design problems. With BIM Coordination, the outcome doesn’t always have to be a mere compromise, but instead the best possible solution that has been found and chosen in collaboration.
The precision level and quality of BIM are based on the project’s goals, standard BIM requirements (YTV2012), and industry-established methods.
We have coordinated over 40 BIM projects, from small residential buildings to big regional projects.
For the work and communication involved in the design process, BIM as a method is an excellent aid. Unfortunately, BIM is often perceived merely as a technical instrument. However, we have noticed that – in addition to its technical features – a united and shared BIM enhances the design team’s collaboration and commits all subjects to the project.
The BIM Manager supports the client in the BIM project. Together with the manager, the client can consider various issues, such as ordering and managing BIM and reaching its goals. Our manager also arranges BIM training sessions and workshops and helps out with contracts.
Modelling of input data
Building renovation is the way to build a sustainable society. In a precise and resource-efficient way, inventory modelling gives us accurate and up-to-date input data regarding the construction project and construction site. We produce high-quality inventory modelling according to the agreed-upon precision while always considering the project’s needs.
If necessary, we also help with ordering and defining laser scanning and photogrammetry documentation. In addition, we have taken part in the compilation of Rakennustieto’s (Finnish Building Information Group) instruction cards on input data.
